Job summary

Saica Group is seeking a Printer Assistant to support the Lead Printer in operating flexographic print equipment. The role focuses on setting up presses, maintaining quality standards and contributing to continuous improvement.

You will work within a global packaging group with strong emphasis on safety, teamwork and ongoing training. Competitive salary and full training are provided, with shift work included.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
• Experience in print production, with flexographic processes preferred.
• Experience with solvent-based inks is advantageous.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S principles is beneficial.
• Safety, quality and environmental standards knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to work in a rotating 12-hour shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate print machinery to optimum levels following health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Maintain press consumables and manage ink loading/unloading.
• Support training of colleagues and participate in shift handovers.
• Identify non-conformities and escalate to Lead Printer or Shift Manager.
• Assist with maintenance of print equipment and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with Ink Technicians and Mounters to maintain production standards.
• Adapt to other production areas, including Conversion/Slitting machinery, as needed.
