Job summary

Saica Group is seeking a Printer Assistant at our Wigan site to support the Lead Printer in operating flexographic print equipment for high-quality packaging solutions. You will help set up machinery, manage inks and reels, and adhere to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English & Maths or equivalent.
• Previous print experience, preferably flexographic.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of quality, health, safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate flexographic print equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain press consumables and inks; load/unload master reels.
• Support shift handovers and training of colleagues.
• Assist with general cleaning and maintenance of print equipment.
• Collaborate with Ink Technicians and Mounters to maintain quality standards.
