Job summary

Faerch Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled machine operator for printing and packaging lines. You will ensure print machinery runs at standard cycle speeds, set up manufacturing equipment, and perform quality checks to specification.

The role covers fault finding, tool changes, pack preparation, and safe working practices in a fast-paced production environment with 4 on, 4 off shifts. Benefits include Pension, Bupa, Cycle to Work, and more.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure Print machinery runs at standard cycle speeds and products meet specification
• Set up and run manufacturing machinery efficiently, including color checks
• Perform tool/insert changes to SOCs promptly
• Support operators to pack, label, assemble packaging, and prepare pallets
• Diagnose machine faults and carry out basic fault finding
• Liaise with engineering on faults and assist with repairs
• Prepare next job in advance for production
• Complete quality checks and enter results in Faerch QMS
• Follow Health & Safety policies and maintain hygiene around machines
• Communicate with team leaders and other personnel

Job description

• Ensure Print machinery is running to standard cycle speeds with minimum wastage and product is manufactured within specification


• Ensure correct set up and efficient running of manufacturing machinery, including color checks using standardized equipment and software


• Carry out tool and insert changes correctly to SOC’s within an appropriate time.


• Support and cover operators/multiskilled to pack products to specification, print labels, assemble packaging, prepare and pack pallets and book out finished goods when required


• Diagnose technical machine problems and carry out advanced fault finding/trouble shooting


• Liaise with engineering upon diagnosis of faults and assist with repairs where possible


• Ensure advance preparation of the next job is ready for production


• Ensure all machines and equipment are used safely and in line with the Standard Operating Procedures


• Complete quality checks as and when required & enter results correctly in Faerch QMS


• Comply with all current Health & Safety policies and procedures, updating systems as required


• Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards in the work area and around machines when they are down


• Adopt working practices to comply with Company and general health and safety requirements


• Communicate with team leaders and all other personnel as required


• Any other duties as requested by Line Managers/ other Managers that are appropriate for your job role.

Working Hours

4 on 4 off 12 hour rotating continental shifts (0600-1800 / 1800-0600)
