Kairos Recruitment is seeking an experienced Large Format Print Operator in Derby to join our busy production team. You will manage end-to-end production of high-quality graphics using UV flatbed/roll-to-roll and Dye Sublimation technologies.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in large format print, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work to production deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Team-leader potential will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in large format print, digital print or similar production.
• Proficiency with UV flatbed/roll-to-roll printing.
• Familiar with Caldera, Fiery or Onyx RIP software.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and print finishing processes.
• Able to meet tight production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large format printing equipment (UV and Dye Sublimation).
• Prepare and RIP customer files for production.
• Monitor print quality, colour consistency and alignment.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and nozzle checks.
• Assist with finishing: trimming, laminating and mounting.
• Maintain a clean, safe production area.

Large Format Print Operator

Location: Derby

Salary: £30,000+ depending on experience

Shift Allowance: £1,200 per annum

Bonus: Up to £2,500 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Large Format Print Operator to join a busy and growing production team based in Derby.

This is a hands‑on role working across a range of exciting and varied projects. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end production of high‑quality graphics using UV flatbed/roll‑to‑roll and Dye Sublimation printing technologies.

The company is looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and is comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.

Candidates with Team Leader or Supervisor experience will also be considered, particularly those looking to take on additional responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large format printing equipment, including UV and Dye Sublimation printers
• Prepare and RIP customer files ready for production
• Use RIP and design software such as Caldera, Fiery, Onyx and Adobe Creative Suite
• Carry out routine machine maintenance, cleaning and nozzle checks
• Monitor print quality, colour consistency, alignment and overall output
• Identify and resolve basic machine and production issues
• Assist with finishing, including trimming, laminating and mounting
• Work to production schedules and tight deadlines
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised production environment
• Support the wider production team when required

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within large format print, digital print or a similar production environment.

You will ideally have experience with:

• UV printing - flatbed and/or roll‑to‑roll
• Dye Sublimation
• Large format digital printing
• RIP software such as Caldera, Fiery or Onyx
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Print finishing processes
• Working to tight production deadlines

We are also interested in candidates with Team Leader or Supervisor experience who can demonstrate the ability to take responsibility and support other members of the production team.

Most importantly, you will have a flexible, can‑do attitude, strong attention to detail and be willing to work overtime when required, including occasional Saturdays during busy periods.

Working Hours

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern:
Monday-Thursday:
6:00am - 2:30pm
11:30am - 8:00pm
Friday:
7:30am - 4:00pm

A £1,200 annual shift allowance is paid in addition to the basic salary.

Location

Due to the shift pattern, candidates should ideally live within approximately 30 minutes of Derby, with a maximum commute of around 45 minutes considered.
