Principal Electronics Design Engineer

Location: Normanton, West Yorkshire | Full-Time, Permanent | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Are you ready to lead and innovate in the field of electronics design? We’re looking for an experienced Principal Electronics Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a key leadership role where you’ll guide talented engineers and work on cutting-edge technology in power electronics, embedded systems, and LED lighting.

What You’ll Be Doing
  1. Lead the design and development of analogue electronics, SMPS, and embedded systems.
  2. Mentor and support a team of engineers, promoting best practices and innovation.
  3. Oversee system integration, including power control, HMI, and lighting solutions.
  4. Tackle complex technical challenges including EMC, thermal management, and compliance.
  5. Approve designs, documentation, and testing procedures for high-performance products.
  6. Drive continuous improvement and stay up to date with industry advancements.
Experience required
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering (Master’s/PhD desirable).
  • Significant proven experience in electronics design, including SMPS and power systems.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Proficiency in SPICE, Matlab, Altium or similar design tools.
  • Knowledge of compliance, safety standards, and product development best practices.
Desirable
  • Experience with embedded systems, lighting control protocols (DALI, DMX), or IoT.
  • Familiarity with energy harvesting, wireless power, or automated testing.
