Role Description

As a Principal Data Architect, you will collaborate across all aspects of project delivery and client engagement, from pre-sales and scope definition to delivery and hypercare. You will lead conversations with HSO’s customers and define the vision for better data utilization across their organization. You will own the technical design and oversee the delivery of data & analytics solutions.

You should be highly experienced in Microsoft Azure, with working knowledge of other platforms. You will lead engagements and have expertise in data strategy, master data management, data architecture, data integration, and data visualization.

Data & AI Delivery Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define the vision and data strategy for HSO’s customers’ data platforms.
  2. Own and lead the design and architecture of customer data platforms to meet business needs.
  3. Establish standards, design patterns, and repeatable methods for data architecture and ingestion.
  4. Develop reusable patterns, templates, and architecture artifacts to optimize project delivery.
  5. Follow best practices in architecture and design, suggesting improvements to promote consistency and standardization.
  6. Present architecture solutions at HSO architecture review boards.
  7. Lead project delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  8. Provide technical leadership to HSO’s Data & Analytics team.

Requirements

  • Experience as a data-focused architect in Azure.
  • Proven experience with architecture processes for design and governance.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platforms and core data services.
  • Familiarity with IT principles like RDBMS, reporting, and analytics.
  • Experience with data and analytics application development across the software lifecycle.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes.
  • Data modeling expertise.
  • Exposure to Azure data and analytics products (SQL, NOSQL, Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Power BI, Fabric, MDM, Purview, Profisee).
  • Experience working with senior technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate in technical and commercial capacities with data.
  • Knowledge of core business processes.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset, capable of influencing at senior levels.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to translate SLAs and requirements into documentation.
  • Flexible and adaptable to various tasks.
  • Big-picture thinker, capable of guiding teams and supporting micro-level tasks.
  • Facilitation skills for consensus-building and stakeholder engagement.

Location

  • This hybrid role can be based in Reading, Glasgow, Manchester, or remote. Expect occasional travel, including overnight stays near clients, offices, and other UK locations for meetings, events, and training.
