Job summary

Experis UK seeks a Principle Architect (Networks) to lead the design of secure, scalable network architectures for defence programmes. You will translate requirements into architectures, set standards, and mentor engineers.

The role requires experience with military comms, security assurance, and readiness to obtain DV clearance. Purpose-built for a high-profile, permanent position within a dynamic organisation, you will shape roadmaps and contribute to bids and demonstrations while addressing

Qualifications

• Experience with military communications systems and C4IR/Satcom is essential.
• Knowledge of security assurance principles for Defence/Government.
• RF systems knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into secure, scalable system designs and architectures.
• Define baseline architecture, interface documentation and design diagrams.
• Lead trade-off analysis and make buy/build/adapt decisions.
• Set engineering standards and design patterns across roadmaps.
• Lead technical solution planning for proposals and bids.
• Provide coaching and design mentoring to engineering staff.
• Contribute to demonstrations, trials and innovation activities.

Job description

Our client, a rapidly growing defence organisation, urgently require a Principle Architect (Networks) to join their team on a permanent basis.

In order to be successful, you will have the following experience:

• Experience within military comms systems, C4IR, Satcom, etc.
• Experience of architecting within security assurance principles for Defence/Government
• Knowledge of RF systems will prove beneficial
• SC Clearance is essential, able to obtain DV

Within this role, you will be responsible for:

• Translate customer requirements into secure, scalable and resilient system designs, defining physical, logical and functional architectures and the supporting architectural diagrams
• Define, baseline and control architecture and interface documentation
• Lead technical trade-off analysis and build, buy and adapt decisions
• Set engineering standards and design patterns across technology roadmaps
• Lead technical solution planning and development for proposals and bids
• Provide technical coaching and design mentoring to engineering staff
• Contribute to planning and execution of demonstrations, trials and innovation activities
• Continuous assessment of emerging capabilities, standards and threats, to feed future roadmap development
• Own design evidence to support system assurance activities
• Own architectural design documentation and design justification at review gates
• Identify and address cross programme and architectural technical risk, including obsolescence, supportability and interoperability
