Principal UI Engineer – Drive the Front-End Future of Fintech

What You’ll Own

• Own and evolve a robust, scalable design system that supports rapid product development across the organisation.
• Translate Figma designs into production-ready React components using TypeScript & Next.js
• Define and drive best practices in UI architecture, testing, accessibility, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to align vision with execution.
• Champion a design-first, developer-friendly culture that values quality, velocity, and innovation.
• Influence front-end strategy, tooling, and workflows at scale.
• Play a key role in hiring and scaling the UI function as the company continues its rapid expansion.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of front-end engineering experience with deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
• Proven expertise in UI engineering, with a strong track record of building and maintaining design systems/ internal tools & libraries (Library maintainer!)
• Mastery of JavaScript fundamentals, browser APIs, and performance profiling tools.
• Experience with Node.js, Next.js, and modern front-end tooling.
• Passion for testing, accessibility, and developer experience.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
• Bonus: Open-source contributions or community recognition.
