I'm working with a well-regarded, fast-growing transport and infrastructure consultancy that's looking to bring a Principal Transport Planner into their expanding team in Southampton.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone currently at Senior level, or already operating at Principal, who's looking to step into a more autonomous role with direct influence on projects, clients, and the growth of the business.
You'll be joining a consultancy that delivers high-quality transport planning solutions across a wide range of development projects - from residential and commercial sites to large-scale infrastructure schemes. They've got strong momentum, ambitious growth plans, and a supportive leadership team committed to staff development.

The Role

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Leading the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and feasibility studies
  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff across the team
  • Identifying business development opportunities and contributing to the consultancy's continued growth
What They're Looking For
  • Significant experience in development-related transport planning
  • Strong technical knowledge and a track record of delivering high-quality work
  • Confidence managing client relationships and working closely with stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in business growth
What's on Offer
  • Performance-related bonus scheme
  • 7% company pension
  • Private health insurance and life assurance
  • Generous annual leave allowance
  • Sociable team culture with events, team days out, and regular rewards
