We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Transport Planner to join our established Transport division!

Based in our Manchester office, you will be joining a fun, highly engaged team who love what they do! Our team has a wealth of experience and offers support, development opportunities, and expert advice. Working collaboratively and as part of our national team, you will be exposed to a wide variety of project work and practices.

Your role will include:

• Engagement in a variety of transport projects including transport assessments for new developments, master planning, urban regeneration, and sustainable transport projects.
• Project delivery, supporting junior team members as needed.
• Ensuring all projects are technically excellent and commercially successful.
• Managing and maintaining relationships with statutory authorities, clients, architects, and the wider design team.

Our transport team advises developers, planners, and public bodies to better understand travel behaviors influencing site development and infrastructure investment.

We’re involved in all aspects of traffic and transportation planning, working with a broad range of clients including public and private sector organizations. Learn more about our projects here.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven experience in development planning, including Transport Assessments, Junction modelling and design, Masterplanning, Travel Plans, and ES Transport Chapters.
• Postgraduate qualification in transport planning/engineering or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of transportation modelling programs – Junctions (ARCADY/PICADY), LinSig, and TRICS.
• Understanding of strategic models (SATURN, VISSIM/PARAMICS) is beneficial.
