Principal Transport Planner - Multi-Sector Projects | Hybrid | UK
I'm recruiting for a leading engineering consultancy seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join their growing team. This role offers the chance to lead complex, sustainable transport planning projects across sectors including Defence, Power, Custodial, and Development Planning, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver and manage transport planning projects from concept to implementation
  2. Provide strategic input on assessments, policy, and sustainable travel
  3. Lead technical reporting (TAs, Travel Plans, CTMPs, EIA inputs)
  4. Collaborate across disciplines and engage with clients
  5. Support junior staff and contribute to business development

About You:

  1. Degree in Transport Planning/Civil Engineering (postgrad preferred)
  2. Chartered or working towards (CIHT, TPS, ICE)
  3. Strong technical background and stakeholder management experience
  4. Knowledge of GIS, CAD, Adobe tools is a bonus
  5. Familiarity with Active Travel, Bus Priority, LCWIPs, and Urban Design is desirable
