Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the statutory consultation processes for all types of Traffic Management Orders.
- Conduct surveys, inspections, and site visits to ensure effective implementation of traffic orders.
- Maintain accurate records of traffic orders and corporate datasets.
- Provide expert advice on plans prepared by Council officers to ensure legal compliance.
- Act as an expert witness or adviser in legal challenges or complaints about traffic orders.
- Supervise the work of technicians to ensure compliance with legal and technical requirements.
- Contribute to the development of strategies, policies, and statutory plans for the Directorate.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the Road Traffic Regulation Act and associated procedure regulations.
- Understanding of the political context and environment of Local Government.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in CAD, GIS, and imaging software.
- Demonstrable extensive track record of drafting and consulting on traffic management orders.
- Extensive experience in drafting legal documentation.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to produce accurate work to deadlines.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Clear understanding of the diverse nature of the community and the implications for service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Educated to an advanced level or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Possession of a full, clean UK driving licence.
