A leading, globally recognised property consultancy is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Principal Town Planner to join their successful and expanding planning team in Reading. This is a unique opportunity to take on a key role within a multidisciplinary environment, working on a wide range of high-profile projects across the South East and beyond.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support a dynamic planning team, contributing to the delivery of planning advice for major residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You'll be involved in providing strategic planning guidance, managing client relationships, and leading on complex planning applications and appeals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects across various sectors
2. Deliver high-quality written reports and planning advice
3. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive projects forward
4. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planners within the team
5. Represent clients at planning committees, hearings, and public consultations

About You

• MRTPI qualified with significant post-qualification experience
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system, particularly in the South East
• Proven experience in delivering major planning applications and development projects
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with commercial awareness
