Overview

I'm working with a highly respected planning consultancy in Worcestershire that's looking to bring on board a Senior Town Planner or Principal Town Planner to help lead a diverse and growing portfolio of planning work. If you're someone who lives and breathes planning, enjoys mentoring others, and wants a role where you can shape strategy as well as delivery, this could be a great fit.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on major planning applications, appeals, strategic planning and deliverables from concept through to decision
  • Provide expert town planner input on policy interpretation, local plans, feasibility studies and site appraisals
  • Act as a key point of contact with clients, local authorities, statutory consultees and developers
  • Mentor and support junior planners, helping to build skills across the team
  • Contribute to business growth: helping win new work and maintaining client relationships
Qualifications
  • A seasoned town planner with several years' experience, ideally in both private consultancy and/or local authority work
  • Chartered membership of the RTPI is highly desired or working towards
  • Strong technical skills: report writing, planning statements, negotiation, understanding planning policy & legislation
  • Commercial awareness: understanding how decisions affect costs, risk, timeframes etc.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
