Job description

Role and Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal or Associate Director level Geotechnical Engineer to lead their team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex geotechnical projects, providing technical leadership, and mentoring junior engineers. This role involves client liaison, project management, and ensuring that all engineering solutions meet the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and innovation. The candidate will play a key role in business development, helping to shape the future direction of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are an advantage.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a team.
  • Business development experience and a strong network within the industry is a bonus but by no means essential.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations – Plaxis, Wallap, Oasis.
