Job summary

JAM in Portsmouth seeks a Principal Thermal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering aspects of new radar technologies. You will provide expert thermal mechanical knowledge across design, build, integration and test of complex systems, directing a small team and collaborating with project leadership.

The role requires experience with CFD/FEA, high standards of safety and the ability to apply engineering to differentiate products within the Future Radar portfolio.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Thermal Mechanical Systems and related domains (CFD/FEA, propulsion or structures).
• Experience designing, building, integrating and testing complex mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and technical leadership to a team of mechanical/CAD engineers.
• Organise and oversee work packages within projects.
• Liaise with project management and technical authority to pursue project aims.
• Review work and coach the mechanical engineering team.
