A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Principles Testing Engineer to be responsible for testing and commissioning signalling systems. Candidates must have experience in railway signalling testing, hold an IRSE License, and be willing to work flexibly. This position supports the development of cutting-edge solutions within the industry, offering a chance to work on complex projects while promoting staff development.

The Rail Engineering Projects Testing and Commissioning Team is an exciting and growing team, eager to grasp modern systems, processes and concepts, within the regulatory framework that we are required to work. This role involves carrying out the basics testing of projects of all types, sizes and complexities. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to use initiative whilst working within a highly regulated environment. Strong organisation and communication skills are essential. Experience, knowledge and understanding of signalling principles and how to test for compliance with them on SSI, and ideally relay based interlockings, is preferred. The role reports to the Testing and Commissioning Engineer (Principles). The work is split between fixed office-based design workstation testing and site-based project work, which may require lodging away for extended periods and working unsocial hours. A full UK driving licence is required.
