Job Details

Subject to the policies of the school and the Council, the duties of Principal Teachers are to perform tasks as directed by the Head Teacher, including:

  • Curricular development and quality assurance
  • Contributing to school policy development regarding behaviour management
  • Managing and guiding colleagues, reviewing CPD needs, career development, and performance
  • Providing advice, support, and guidance to colleagues
  • Leading, managing, and strategizing pastoral care within the school
  • Managing, deploying, and developing pastoral care staff
  • Implementing policies on guidance, pastoral care, assessment, and pupil welfare
  • Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and agencies
  • Sharing best practice with class teachers and advancing the Improvement Plan
  • Participating in school administration
  • Assisting with the School Improvement Plan
