Principal Teacher Salary Scale Point 1 (£55,155 per annum)

Sanderson's Wynd is a vibrant and inclusive community. The school currently has 12 mainstream classes and 4 specialist provision classes within our Hub. We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Principal Teacher to join our team on a permanent basis. Applicants should be confident in sharing their practice with colleagues, both within and outwith the school setting, and have experience in leading learning and practice within their own setting (either as an experienced class teacher or as an Acting PT). Job Details

Subject to the policies of the school and the Council, the duties of Principal Teachers are to perform tasks as directed by the Head Teacher. These include:

  • Curricular development and quality assurance.
  • Contributing to school policy development regarding behaviour management.
  • Managing and guiding colleagues, reviewing CPD needs, career development, and performance.
  • Providing advice, support, and guidance to colleagues.
  • Leading and managing pastoral care within the school.
  • Assisting in the management and development of pastoral care staff.
  • Implementing school policies on guidance, pastoral care, assessment, and pupil welfare.
  • Working with colleagues, parents, and agencies.
  • Sharing best practices and advancing the Improvement Plan.
  • Participating in school administration.
  • Supporting aspects of the School Improvement Plan.

Pay Arrangements
Candidates starting after the first day of the school session will have their salary recalculated to reflect leave and pay accruals for the school year (1 August - 31 July). Further details will be provided if applicable.
