Winchburgh Academy is a new, state-of-the-art secondary school that opened in August 2022. It is designed to facilitate twenty-first-century learning, creativity, and digital technologies. The school features sports facilities of the highest standard, including sports halls, a 25m swimming pool, and artificial grass outdoor pitches.
The school initially opened with a S1 cohort, with expected annual increases to reach a capacity of 660 pupils by 2028. By August 2025, the roll is anticipated to be around 250 students (S1-S4). A future expansion plan considers increasing capacity up to 1,210 pupils. In August 2025, approximately 20 teaching staff will be employed.

This position involves regulated work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will need to join or update the PVG Scheme before starting employment, with costs covered by the candidate. The fees are £59 for full membership or £18 for existing members.
