The PT Pupil Support will have responsibility to lead and manage Support for Learning at Kelso High School

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Subject to the policies of the school and the education authority the duties of teachers are to perform such tasks as the Headteacher shall direct having reasonable regard to overall teacher workload related to the following categories:

Leadership of Change: work with data and senior leaders to develop a strategic vision/improvement plan in order to continually improve outcomes for all learners.

Leading a team of Pupil Support staff to deliver strategic vision/improvement plan and meet the needs of all learners.

Allocating resources, including staff, to meet the needs of all learners.

Supporting learning across the school, identifying key support strategies, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress and agreeing next steps with teachers and Faculties

Systematically gather, collate and analyse evidence in order to support assessment arrangements for learners, including for SQA examinations.

Responsibility for the maintenance and updating of ASN pupil data and communication with all stakeholders as appropriate

Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals

Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development

Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review Preparing Reports for and attending multi-agency meetings.

Liaising with external agencies and services to develop support for pupils Assess CLPL needs and Leading/organising CPD for colleagues to support ASN pupils

Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils

Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school This profile is indicative of the nature and level of responsibility associated with the post.

It is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake such other duties as may be required by the Service Director of Education and Lifelong Learning to meet the needs and responsibility of the Service and the Council.
