Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Bristol is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to technically lead high-value system refreshes on MOD test ranges and to develop the systems required to test evolving military equipment.

You will lead Mission Rehearsal projects across surveillance, tracking and platform integrations, produce engineering artefacts, mentor junior engineers and work with Project Managers to deliver on time, cost and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification or MSc preferred, or equivalent experience
• CEng or equivalent
• Proven track record leading technical programmes through life cycle
• Understanding of safety-critical systems and engineering governance

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of complex/high value systems programmes, on time, cost and quality
• Produce and review systems engineering artefacts across the lifecycle
• Engage with stakeholders to understand broader context, risks and changes
• Mentor junior engineers and guide others to required standards
• Lead technical, assurance and systems engineering activity
• Oversee contracted work ensuring statements of work and acceptance criteria are achievable
