Principal Systems Engineer (Requirements & Acceptance)

Location: Coventry – Hybrid working available

Salary: £55,000 - £62,500

Are you a Systems Engineer with a passion for defining, validating, and delivering complex systems in a mission-critical environment? Join a growing team at the forefront of defence innovation and play a central role in shaping the future of submarine capability.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead requirements and acceptance activities across the entire engineering lifecycle

• Engage stakeholders to ensure system requirements meet contractual and performance standards

• Oversee validation events, proving evidence, and manage formal acceptance activities

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and business standards

• Support project estimates, bid activities, and contribute to the wider engineering governance

• Mentor and share domain knowledge across teams

Your Skills and Experience:

• Strong background in Systems Engineering, particularly requirements and acceptance in defence/maritime

• In-depth knowledge of engineering lifecycles, system integration, and compliance practices

• Understanding of the broader programme environment and multi-disciplinary teams

• Awareness of Product Safety and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards

• Experience with stakeholder engagement and technical leadership
