Job Description

Description: The purpose of this role is to play an active part in the design of projects, working with Engineers, Technicians, external consultants, and clients. Responsibilities include managing financial aspects and targets of projects, attending meetings, and being the daily contact for clients, contractors, and consultants. This position offers opportunities to work across various sectors, including heritage projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop scheme designs as required by Directors and Principal Engineers, using appropriate software.
2. Assist in delivering projects within timescale, budget, and quality expectations.
3. Produce or collaborate with technicians to produce relevant civil engineering information.
4. Undertake structural engineering analysis.
5. Manage small projects independently.
6. Attend project and design meetings and conduct site visits.
7. Undertake condition surveys and prepare reports.
8. Coordinate with other members of the design team.
9. Ensure all project documentation complies with business management systems, processes, and procedures.
10. Communicate critical project issues promptly to Directors and clients.
11. Mentor graduates and technicians.
12. Engage in CPD activities to support personal and career development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in structural engineering design and construction.
• Technical design expertise using British, European, and international standards and codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural engineering software.
