Job Description:

We are seeking a Chartered Principal Structural Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in Structural Design to join a UK-wide engineering consultancy based in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. The role involves working on a variety of industrial and rail projects, including new-build and retrofit schemes, civil infrastructure, fatigue analysis, temporary works, and traditional structural design.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Professional Certification: Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers or actively working towards it.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years in structural engineering, managing projects of varying complexity.
  • Structural Design Expertise: Proficiency in analysis, design, and detailing across materials like steel, concrete, and timber.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to lead teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure project delivery.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ETABS, SAP, SAFE, AutoCAD.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of current building codes and standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Leadership Abilities: Mentoring and technical guidance skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and innovative thinking.

The salary ranges from £60,000 to £68,000 plus benefits, depending on experience.
