Principal Stress Engineer

Salary: Up to £58,000

Cirrus Selection is proud to represent a leading Defence company in their search for a permanent Principal Stress Engineer based in Stevenage.This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to cutting-edge defence projects and play a pivotal role in engineering excellence.

About the Role

As a Principal Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting thorough stress analysis and providing critical insights into various engineering challenges. You will leverage your expertise in stress and structural analysis to ensure the robustness and reliability of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
    Deliver structural and thermal analysis expertise across the whole product lifecycle from studies in the early concept stage and detailed development of engineering designs to manufacturing concessions and in-service support.
    Engage in CAE modelling and analysis for a range of applications, including crash, fatigue, and vibration analysis.
    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve design objectives and compliance with stringent requirements.
    Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support technical decisions.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in stress engineering, with an emphasis on analytical skills and practical application of CAE principles. You will beDegree qualified in a relevant engineering / science discipline or have significant experience in a relevant field (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Analysis etc.), and will have proven experience in estimating, planning, leading and delivering a variety of structural analysis work packages, using both classical hand calculation methods and CAE tools (Hyperworks desirable).
