Job description

Job Overview:

As a Principal Statistical Programmer, you will provide advanced technical expertise to develop process methodology for the department to meet internal and external clients’ needs across complex projects and studies.

This involves planning and coordinating the development of integrated programming solutions, serving the full spectrum of statistical programming needs. You will provide internal consulting services, including specifications and user needs analysis for complex project or client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform, plan, coordinate, and implement the following for complex studies:
  • The programming, testing, and documentation of statistical programs for creating statistical tables, figures, and listings.
  • The programming of analysis datasets (derived datasets) and transfer files for internal and external clients.
  • The programming quality control checks for source data and reporting data issues periodically.
  • Interpret project-level requirements and develop programming specifications for complex studies.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise with internal and external clients, independently bringing project solutions to SP teams.
  • Fulfill project responsibilities as a technical team lead for single complex studies or groups of studies.
  • Communicate directly with internal and client statisticians and clinical team members to ensure understanding of requirements and timelines.
  • Estimate programming scope, manage resources, communicate project status, and negotiate timelines.
  • Promote the use of established standards, SOPs, and best practices.
  • Provide training and mentorship to SP team members.
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Maths, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
    • 7+ years of statistical programming experience within the Life Science Industry.
    • Strong efficacy experience.
    • Advanced knowledge of statistics, programming, and clinical drug development processes.
    • Proficiency in computing applications such as Base SAS, SAS Graph, and SAS Macro.
    • Knowledge of relevant Data Standards (e.g., CDISC/ADaM/SDTM).
