Job summary

Vix Technology is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in the UK to drive technical direction across public transit platforms. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure scalable, secure software delivering real-world impact.

The role emphasizes C#, .NET, RESTful APIs, and modern tooling with opportunities to shape architecture and promote best practices in agile teams. AWS experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in tech lead or principal engineering roles.
• Experience with C#, .NET and related frameworks, plus modern development tooling (Git, Docker, AI coding tools).
• Skilled in building and integrating RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures; comfortable with relational and non-relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable software solutions that meet customer needs.
• Lead architectural discussions and contribute to long-term quality and maintainability of systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical escalation for production incidents.
