Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of software design, system architecture, and embedded software testing at module level.
• Degree qualified.
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ in relation to real-time systems.
• A working appreciation of associated engineering disciplines.
• Proficient with design and analysis tools.
• Professional courage to highlight areas of concern and risk regarding product fitness for use.
• An ability to interpret test results and provide an informed conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Review and agree high level software requirements including their testability.
• Translate high level requirements into a validated design for the software component.
• Capture applicable design constraints and quality attributes for the component.
• Design and implement software components to meet requirements and constraints.
• Allocate software requirements to test vehicles defined in the verification plan.
• Analyze software components for functional behaviour using modelling or simulation.
• Develop and review software tests to demonstrate requirements are satisfied.
• Analyse existing software for architectural/design issues and drive improvements for robustness and safety.
• Analyse verification test results against software requirements.
• Provide targeted testing of software level functionality to support problem investigation and closures.
• Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components.
• May support capacity planning and development of long-term strategic goals for the department.
• Develop, implement, document, and maintain policies, procedures, tools and training as required.
• Develops knowledge to provide advice to project teams and create/reuse knowledge with guidance from practitioners.
• Produces reports documenting the work carried out.
