Cure Talent are delighted to be partnered with an emerging wearable medical technology company at a defining stage of its growth. We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across the software function, working closely with the Head of Engineering and multidisciplinary teams spanning Software, Signal Processing and Firmware.

This hands-on technical leadership role combines software architecture and technical decision-making with day-to-day engineering,

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience in regulated medical devices.
• Proven leadership across software architecture and delivery.
• Hands-on coding with systems-level engineering in embedded/firmware.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62304 and regulatory pathways.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across software development, architecture and engineering best practice.
• Own and evolve the software architecture across the medical device platform.
• Lead technical decision-making across Software, Signal Processing and Firmware interfaces.
• Ensure software development aligns with IEC 62304 and wider medical device requirements.
• Support regulatory submissions and progression of products toward commercial release.
• Provide technical guidance to internal engineers, contractors and external development partners.
• Remain hands-on with software development, code reviews, testing, documentation and troubleshooting.
