Job summary

Vix Technology is seeking a talented Principal Software Engineer to join our global team. You will own the design and delivery of mission-critical software for public transit, collaborating with platform specialists to build robust, scalable applications.

You will drive innovation, mentor engineers, and contribute to Agile processes while ensuring system stability and high-quality code across diverse projects across our global offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in software engineering with at least 3 years in tech lead or principal role.
• Experience in C#, .NET and related frameworks; proficient with modern development tooling (Git, Docker, AI coding tools).
• Skilled in building and integrating RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and reusable software solutions that meet customer needs.
• Support the design and architecture of complex systems, focusing on long-term quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Deep ownership of the codebase, uplifting engineering standards, and acting as a trusted source of technical knowledge for the development team.
• Contribute to Agile development processes, including sprint planning and reviews.
• Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical coaching.
• Available as a technical escalation to investigate and resolve production incidents to ensure system stability and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly across diverse teams and provide constructive, solution-oriented feedback.

Vix Technology is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and solutions that are transforming the public transportation industry.

You will play a vital role in driving innovation and developing mission-\u201ckritical\u201c software solutions that enable efficient public transportation systems. You will collaborate with a diverse team of platform specialists to design and implement robust and scalable software applications.

What You Will Bring To The Role

Essential:

• Minimum 10 years in software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in tech lead, or principal engineering role


• Extensive experience in C#, .NET and related frameworks, and modern development tooling (git, docker, AI coding tools)


• Skilled in building and integrating RESTful APIs and event-\u201ced integrated architectures


• Competence in working with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

Desirable:

• AWS experience


• Previous experience and interest in a transport technology or rail ticketing environment
