Principal Software Engineer (Craftspeople) at Codurance

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer, known internally as a Principal Software Craftspeople, who shares our values of pragmatism, professionalism, and transparency to join our team. You will leverage your expertise with clients and internally to shape Codurance's future, including coaching and mentoring across the company.

Our support to clients involves diverse projects. You might work onsite with our team on a client project, ranging from greenfield startups to mission-critical enterprise systems. Alternatively, you could serve as an embedded craftsperson, helping clients improve their software development practices, or introduce Software Craftsmanship and Extreme Programming principles through coaching and mentoring.

Location: We are open to this role being hybrid in Leeds or Manchester. Please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship at this time.

As a candidate for this role, you should possess:

• Client Engagement: Ability to build relationships with strategic stakeholders, acting as an advisor and helping align visions.
• Technical Knowledge: Broad expertise across multiple technology stacks (.NET, JVM, Node, cloud tech), capable of advising at high and low levels, and supporting value discovery through prototyping and research.
• Project Management: Proven experience in executing and planning technical or product strategies, managing risks effectively.
• Communication and Leadership: Versatile leadership and facilitation skills, with strong communication abilities.
• Learning and Growth Mindset: Passion for coaching, mentoring, teaching, and continuous learning.
