Job summary

Redline Group Ltd is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to take technical ownership of complex DSP and embedded software projects for 5G communications.

You will lead the design and implementation of advanced communications systems, mentor engineers, and influence software architecture across the lifecycle. The role offers a senior technical track within a well-established, profitable technology company.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc or MSc/MEng within Engineering, ideally Electronics, Telecommunications, Software Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Significant experience in DSP algorithm simulation, embedded software development and 5G communications systems.
• Strong expertise in bare‑metal and embedded C development, with the ability to guide architecture and implementation decisions.
• Experience developing and debugging software in Linux‑based environments.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and influence software design across the full development lifecycle.

Are you a Principal Software Engineer with a strong background in DSP, embedded software and developing 5G communications applications?

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will take technical ownership of complex embedded software and DSP development activities, supporting the design and implementation of advanced communications systems.

Mandatory Qualifications

• BEng/BSc or MSc/MEng within Engineering, ideally Electronics, Telecommunications, Software Engineering or a similar discipline
• Significant experience in DSP algorithm simulation, embedded software development and 5G communications systems
• Strong expertise in bare‑metal and embedded C development, with the ability to guide architecture and implementation decisions
• Experience developing and debugging software in Linux‑based environments
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and influence software design across the full development lifecycle

Optional / Desired Experience

• Experience with Yocto‑based Board Support Packages
• Cross compilers, including ARM GCC or similar toolchains
• FreeRTOS experience
• Experience with typical embedded control peripherals, such as RAM, Flash, UART, PWM, A/D, CAN, I2C and SPI
• Cortex M3/M4 Microcontrollers or similar
• Experience with the efficient implementation of communications DSP algorithms, such as FFTs, filtering and DDC, including exposure to VHDL
