Job summary

Meridian Space UK Limited is seeking a Principal Software Architect to own the software architecture for the Meridian Ground Segment and drive full-stack development across distributed cloud and edge environments.

You will define the blueprint, bridge cloud-native infrastructure with edge networks, and ensure telecom-grade resilience. Lead reviews, mentor teams, and interface with customers to shape ground-network features and architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in CS/engineering or related field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience in cloud, distributed systems and edge
• Proficiency in C/C++, Go, Python, Java or Rust

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack software for the Meridian Ground Segment
• Architect scalable frameworks for ground network including radio access nodes and core control planes
• Lead transition to cloud-native microservices with container orchestration and modern APIs
• Oversee virtualization and containerization with high-performance data-plane tech (DPDK/eBPF)
• Mentor engineering teams and perform architecture reviews
• Interface with customers and partners to shape technical requirements and roadmap
