Graphics Software Architect

A new opportunity has opened up for a Graphics Software Architect at a world-leading company specializing in power-efficient, high-performance GPUs for use across mobile, consumer, automotive, and data centre platforms. This UK-based firm provides silicon and software IP to global technology leaders and is at the forefront of enabling cutting-edge graphics and compute workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and evolve the software architecture that maps modern graphics APIs to silicon implementations.
2. Investigate and optimize end-to-end graphics software performance, including prototyping hardware/software interface improvements.
3. Collaborate with product owners to define the roadmap for API implementations across hardware platforms.
4. Work directly with customers and internal teams to identify needs and integrate them into technical strategies.
5. Maintain a holistic architectural view across multiple software teams and hardware generations.
6. Define technical standards and architectural patterns across the graphics software stack.

The Ideal Graphics Software Architect Will Have:

1. 5+ years of experience in commercial graphics-related software development.
2. Deep knowledge of 3D graphics APIs (e.g., Vulkan, DirectX, OpenGL ES, Metal).
3. Strong understanding of GPU architecture, including programmable and fixed-function elements.
4. Experience optimizing graphics software and working with profiling/API tracing tools.
5. Ability to interface with senior technical stakeholders, translating requirements into product roadmaps.
