Job Description:
  • PSW required in the ED team at NCT.
  • Two experienced social workers with AMHP qualifications are required for the ED team within the children's trust.
  • The EDT staff offer out-of-hours services to respond to referrals where council intervention is needed to protect a young person. These cases come to the council in the evenings, overnight, or at weekends, as it would not be safe to delay the referral until the next working day.
  • Duty social workers will respond quickly to emergency calls, offer sound advice to those in need, and follow up on referrals to ensure the correct care is provided to the young person.
  • Candidates should have AMHP status, a strong awareness of child protection, mental health needs, and emergency care, and should be flexible with their working hours. Out-of-hours work is necessary due to the nature of the role. Ideal candidates will have a background in EDT and experience working within the young people's service as an AMHP or EDT social worker for several years.
