Job Title: Principal Social Worker

Location: Wolverhampton (Hybrid)

Pay Rate: £35.44 per hour

About the Role:

Liquid Personnel is seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic Principal Social Worker to lead, motivate, and inspire Wolverhampton's social workers across Adults and Children's Services. The role involves working closely with senior leadership teams and Directors to enhance the profile of social work and provide effective challenge.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic development of social work practice, overseeing training, recruitment, and retention, including pathways into the profession.
  • Manage a quality assurance programme to support continuous learning and improvement.
  • Take responsibility for policies, procedures, and inspection activities, including those related to the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Represent the council in national and regional forums, advise senior leadership, and provide expert guidance to social workers and practitioners.
  • Manage a team comprising a Deputy Principal Social Worker, Advanced Practitioners, and Improvement Officers.
