Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Simulation & Modelling Engineer to join a high-performing team working on surface-launched air defence and future systems projects in the UK. If you are an experienced engineer, physicist, or mathematician passionate about modelling complex systems and building quality code, this role is for you.

As a Senior Simulation & Modelling Engineer, you will develop and integrate dynamic numerical models (mainly in MATLAB and Simulink) to simulate real-world weapon systems. These simulations are crucial for concept development, assessment, and in-service support, helping understand system performance throughout the lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, integrating, and validating dynamic simulation models
• Collaborating with system designers, control engineers, and software developers
• Automating testing and verification processes and supporting continuous integration
• Ensuring model quality through peer reviews and configuration management
• Integrating external models (FMUs, C++, third-party software) into our environments
• Presenting work and collaborating with internal and external partners

Qualifications required:

• Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB and Simulink (or similar tools)
• Good understanding of dynamic systems and numerical modelling
• Experience with automated testing, version control (Git, EWM), and documentation
• Comfort working in a model-based design environment with solid coding standards
• Experience integrating external code or models into simulation environments
• Familiarity with automated C/C++ code generation from Simulink
• Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience is a bonus
