The role

As a Radiation Shielding Consultant, you’ll be a shielding analyst supporting our Shielding Discipline Lead in delivering innovative technical solutions across various projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify shielding requirements, ensure consistent methodologies, and support project stakeholders. You will also contribute to improving radiation protection procedures.

Your responsibilities include developing radiation models, performing calculations for shielding design, dose assessments, and neutron activation analysis, preparing reports, verifying technical work, mentoring junior specialists, and driving continuous improvement.

This full-time role offers 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements, including two days in the office weekly. Possible locations include Bristol, Leicester, Newbury, Warrington, Preston, Cumbria, or Humberside.

Essential Experience

  • Expertise in radiation shielding with a strong track record.
  • Practical experience with radiation transport codes.
  • Leadership skills to guide technical teams.
