Job Description:

The transmission and distribution sector is rapidly transforming against a backdrop of growing demand, regulatory changes, ambitious carbon reduction targets and new innovations in technology.

Due to continued growth, we are open to speaking with experienced HV Cable Design Engineers for future opportunities.

We are exploring future opportunities across our Energy Team, particularly at Principal/Senior Engineer levels. This team offers involvement in various projects, including HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, and connection schemes.

The role involves working as part of the Cable team on electrical substation design, major renewables, HVDC interconnectors, offshore grids, and FEED design. Collaboration with other disciplines and leadership roles are expected. Experience with key T&D clients in the UK is preferred.

You will join a growing, collaborative team working with clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry challenges, contributing to the U.K. energy transition.

About You

You should be proactive, with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry, and capable of coaching and collaborating within the wider energy team.

Ideally, you will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, with professional registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and ICE preferred. Experience as a civil substation engineer with awareness of other HV civil projects is also desirable.

Additional preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in the design (Concept, FEED, and detailed design) of transmission & distribution systems for utility companies based on international standards.
• Ability to coordinate across disciplines and resolve design issues effectively.
• Practical knowledge of cable design, including installation, routing, trenching, bonding, phasing, pulling, and termination arrangements.
• Hands-on experience with CYMCAP software for cable sizing calculations per international standards.
• Ability to work under challenging workloads and adapt to short-notice changes.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
