With significant investments secured, this data centre group is entering their next phase of growth and are looking to bring on board a Principal / Senior Electrical Engineer.
Responsibilities:- Support in the management of the master planning of sites pre-acquisition, working closely with the site selection, leasing, and Development and Construction teams
- Be part of a close-knit team, effectively supporting the full life cycle of projects, guiding the Senior Management around both internal and external resource management
- Assist in managing consultant teams in their delivery, challenging the consultants to continually evolve and improve.
- Support in contract review, negotiation, and execution, utilising knowledge of varying Design and Construction contract forms.
- Contribute towards the budget management across projects where an active project contributor. Review budgets and provide comments. Effectively track changes and cost risks, flagging to the Senior Management where risks exist, developing mitigation strategies.
- Liaise worldwide with colleagues to ensure that best practice is uniform across all our developments, irrespective of geographic location.
- Provide technical expertise in the design and installation of data centre electrical systems whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide advice on the procurement process, reviewing returns and checking for compliance. Work with our contractors and vendors to ensure all construction work is best value for our end customers.
Requirements:- Previous experience in Electrical or building services engineering and project management.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Proficiency in relevant design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit etc.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes.
- Solid understanding of energy efficiency best practices and sustainability principles as they relate to data centre infrastructure.
- Proficiency with MS Project.
- Critical thinker and problem solver.
- Ability to support several projects simultaneously and effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface directly with clients.
- Willingness to travel locally, nationally, and internationally on a regular basis.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree, electrical or building services engineering, or technology-related discipline.
