Description of the Assignment

Location: Risley, Warrington

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - required in the office 3 days per week and 2 days remote

We are seeking an experienced Senior Control, Electrical, and Instrumentation (CE&I) Engineer to join our team. This role involves delivering work packages across various system scopes for all three SEP machines, focusing on solving diverse CE&I challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering compliant, fit-for-purpose CE&I design solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver CE&I design solutions for complex systems across multiple SEP machines, ensuring compliance with technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Break down complex problems into manageable parts, offering clear options for resolution and selecting the best solutions.
  • Contribute to the production, delivery, and reporting of work plans and schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear updates.
  • Apply a deep understanding of regulations relevant to CE&I equipment (e.g., CDM, PUWER, Machinery Safety BS13849/62061, BS7671, UKCA/CE, industrial installation methods).
  • Review and check engineering drawings for compliance with standards.
  • Review, understand, and challenge electrical power calculations per BS 7671 or equivalent.
  • Create and review design specifications to meet project requirements and support panel build/installation queries.
  • Produce design risk assessments, installation method statements, EO packs, quality requirements, and O&M documents.
  • Contribute to functional safety designs (IEC 61508) and safety case deliverables.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience delivering CE&I design solutions within project costs and schedules.
  • Ability to break down complex problems and present practical solutions.
  • Experience in producing, delivering, and reporting work plans.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations (CDM, PUWER, Machinery Safety BS13849/62061, BS7671, industrial installation methods).
  • Proficiency in reviewing engineering drawings for compliance.
  • Ability to review and challenge electrical power calculations per BS 7671 or similar standards.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong engineering judgment based on evidence and risk assessment.
  • Experience creating design specifications and resolving panel build/installation issues.
  • Knowledge in producing safety-related documents and technical files.
  • Experience with functional safety (IEC 61508) and safety case production.
