Job Description:

Leonardo UK is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division. This role involves supporting security aspects of core products and external stakeholders, coordinating with engineering teams across the entire engineering lifecycle, from requirements to maintenance.

This role offers the opportunity to work on significant programs, ensuring products meet high standards and customer requirements. You will be part of a team of consultants, engineers, and specialists, with a potential hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or operate independently to deliver cyber and information security across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Translate customer requirements into security management plans and activities.
  • Become the lead security SME for the product.
  • Manage statements of work and deliverables within time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues.
  • Manage customer relationships for the security workstream.
  • Mentor and line-manage team members as needed.

Skills, Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Degree and/or MSc in engineering or cybersecurity, or equivalent professional certification.
  • 5+ years of delivery experience in cyber/engineering roles.
  • Experience with MOD accreditation, secure by design processes, and standards like NIST and Defstan.
  • Experience in risk management, system security design, and security verification activities.

Preferred but not essential:

  • Understanding of engineering lifecycle and key review activities.
  • Knowledge of cryptographic technologies and MOD/NCSC standards.
  • Experience with cybersecurity and airworthiness standards.
