NPL is looking for a senior expert with demonstrable, world-leading experience in Underwater Acoustics to join us as a Principal Scientist. Research drives our business. It will be up to you to develop and lead your team, set your technical area's strategic direction, and ensure your vision is delivered. You don’t rely solely on established methodologies; you challenge existing practices to expand our capabilities. You will also drive collaboration internally and externally to enhance activities and optimize commercial opportunities. Your passion for your work, along with your extensive network, will help promote our work, representing NPL and speaking at various events. As your work progresses, you will ensure the team grows with you through training and development.
The responsibilities of the Principal Scientist within Underwater Acoustics include:
The role is based at NPL's Teddington site, involving occasional travel for customer site visits, in situ measurements, and representing NPL at international meetings, conferences, and events.
