Job Description:

Piramal is seeking a Team-leader/Principal Development Scientist responsible for leading method development, validation, and serving as the technical lead for projects ranging from lab-scale to toxicology development and pre-GMP technology transfer. The role involves both technical expertise and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and proven (or potential) leadership skills in managing a team of scientists. Demonstrated ability to deliver project commitments on schedule is essential.

You will have the opportunity to work with a highly skilled team dedicated to bringing Antibody-Drug Conjugates to patients. We pride ourselves on serving our customers and patients by developing and manufacturing innovative, life-saving pharmaceuticals.

The Role:

Chief Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Daily Work:
  • Ensure project deliverables meet objectives and timelines.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing activities related to developed or transferred processes.
  • Report analytical and process conclusions.
  • Lead a small development team across multiple projects daily.
  • Mentor scientists and handle line management responsibilities.

Quality:

  • Follow protocols and procedures.
  • Improve and challenge quality systems and procedures, striving for enhancements.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and understanding.

Manufacturing Support:

  • Support first-time manufacturing operations and troubleshoot scale-up issues.
  • Maintain safety and hygiene standards.
  • Comply with COSHH and risk assessments.

Training:

  • Manage staff utilization, training, and development.

Critical Tasks:

  • Manage project scope and milestones.
  • Ensure accuracy of raw data and analytical interpretations.
  • Interface with clients and handle new project inquiries.
  • Provide technical support for transferred or developed processes.

Key Result Areas & Measures:

  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Engage in client interactions and new project proposals.
