Job Description:

Job Title: Principal Scientist / Senior Scientist II – CRISPR Screening Lead

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Scientist or Senior Scientist II to lead one of our high-throughput screening (HTS) campaigns. This is a hands-on, lab-based role for a scientifically driven leader ready to take ownership of CRISPR-based functional genomics screens. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise and strong project leadership to drive discovery at the cutting edge of cell biology and gene editing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, execution, and analysis of high-throughput screening campaigns, with a focus on CRISPR-based perturbation in an arrayed format.
  • Drive fibroblast and endothelial cell assay development to enable robust and reproducible screening platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align screening outputs with broader scientific objectives.
  • Contribute to experimental planning, troubleshooting, and optimization of nucleofection-based CRISPR delivery methods.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and scientific resource to more junior scientists on the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience leading multiple high-throughput screening campaigns, preferably arrayed CRISPR screens.
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience using CRISPR at scale, including nucleofection as the primary delivery method.
  • Proven expertise in assay development; experience with endothelial cell assays using primary cells is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic lab environment.
  • Willingness to be physically present in the lab five days a week; candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to London or a commutable distance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading screening teams or scientific projects.
  • Strong data interpretation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in collaborative, matrixed R&D teams.
