Position: Principal Scientist, Process Chemistry

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Coventry, Rhode Island (ON-SITE)

Salary: $170,000-$190,000

Job Overview:

The Principal Scientist is a Subject matter Expert within Process Chemistry and provides scientific skill and leadership to solve high complexity chemical development issues for assigned projects and / or initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute complex experiments, analyze results, and plan further studies
  • Stay updated on new technologies to contribute to scientific advancements internally and externally.
  • Document and report findings per department and regulatory standards (GLP, GMP, ICH, etc.).
  • Align cross-functional efforts to meet client and business objectives.
  • Mentor junior scientists and collaborate with peers to drive scientific strategy.
  • Complete all required technical, procedural, and policy-based training.
  • Work within established workflows, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain a well-organized lab environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Work efficiently and meet project timelines while upholding high-quality standards.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain training records and report any safety concerns to management.
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.

What We're Looking For:

  • PhD in Chemistry or related field.
  • Customer serviced focused
  • 10-year industrial experience within relevant role
  • Evidence of experience in successful application of analytical / physical skill sets to resolve high complexity chemical problems
  • Evidence of ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary scientific teams
  • Competency in the routine use of core instrumentation and laboratory techniques and higher end instrumentation and laboratory techniques.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively present scientific findings to colleagues
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage projects effectively
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
