Job summary

Planet Pharma in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Principal Scientist in Immunoassay to lead complex immunoassay projects, develop regulatory‑compliant methods, and mentor a team of scientists in a GxP‑regulated CRO environment.

You will drive method development strategies across PK, biomarker, and immunogenicity studies, share findings at conferences, and collaborate with internal partners to deliver high‑quality bioanalytical solutions that support client programs.

Principal Scientist – Immunoassay

In this role, you’ll oversee complex immunoassay projects, develop robust, regulatory‑compliant methods, and mentor a team of talented scientists. Your scientific judgement and creativity will be essential as you lead method development strategies, troubleshoot across platforms, and contribute to our culture of continuous improvement and scientific excellence. Be the voice of innovation, collaborating with internal teams and presenting at industry conferences, all while making a meaningful impact on therapies that improve lives worldwide.


To succeed, you should bring a strong background in bioanalysis, with hands‑on experience leading ligand‑binding assay development, validation, and application for PK, biomarker, and immunogenicity studies. You’ll need a degree in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, or biological sciences, coupled with proven expertise within a GxP‑regulated CRO environment. Expertise in global regulatory guidance and industry best practices for immunoassay validation is essential. A track record of scientific leadership, mentoring, and collaborative problem‑solving will set you apart.


Nice‑to‑haves include familiarity with creating new service lines or scientific IP, additional experience in cross‑departmental collaboration, and knowledge of bioanalytical platform selection aligned with sponsor and regulatory needs.
