Principal Salesforce Engineer

Full Time Perm

Way of Work: Hybrid

Salary: $129,500 - $194,300 plus 10% annual bonus

Location: Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN

Relocation Assistance to Columbus Provided

The Principal Salesforce Engineer in the NiSource IT department is a leadership role responsible for driving the delivery and continuous improvement of technical solutions that support key work asset management platforms. This role involves hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. As a Principal Engineer, you will lead the charge in ensuring that our technical solutions align with strategic business goals and drive innovation within the organization.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance in the design and development of solutions for Salesforce platforms.
  • Solution Development: Design, develop, and implement software solutions that enhance the functionality and performance of these platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews and ensure that solutions meet quality standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, providing support and maintenance for existing systems.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement in platform solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Salesforce development and implementation including Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and custom development using Apex, Lightning, and Visualforce.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Apex source code.
  • Experience as a technical lead, leading large transformation programs, and aligning technical solutions with strategic business goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in relevant IT areas (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Experience in a similar industry or sector.
  • Experience using Youreka Forms.
  • Experience using the Copado DevOps platform.
