Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer in the United Kingdom. You will coordinate the nuclear safety team, ensuring the delivery of HAZOPs to the required standards. Ideal candidates will have over 10 years of experience in safety documentation and formal safety analyses related to nuclear facilities. A registered professional qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in safety documentation for nuclear installations.
• Experience in formal safety analyses such as HAZOPs or HAZID.
• Knowledge of engineering design and safety practice.

Job description

Overview

Primary Purpose: To coordinate the nuclear safety team in the production of deliverables and the delivery of services, to meet an agreed plan and defined specification/ scope of works. Responsible for delivery of HAZOPs to time and quality requirements. Input to safety case planning as required. Review of documentation for correctness and completeness.

Experience

• Considerable (10+ years) experience in most aspects of the management and preparation of all categories of safety documentation for a nuclear installation.
• Experience in most aspects of Engineering design and safety practice.
• Experience of participating in, and ideally running, formal safety analyses e.g. HAZOPs, HAZID, FMECA, FTA etc.
• Experience in support to construction, operation, refit/repair of nuclear facilities or other similar specialist applications.

Academic / Professional Qualification

• Preferred: Registered Professional e.g. Chartered Member of recognised and relevant Institute.
